In <br /> light of the regulations and the intent of those regulations, it <br /> is the direction of Environmental Health that a demonstration <br /> project be approved based an the current operation which exists <br /> at the CWRS site. This project will consist of the alternative <br /> composting method proposed, with the following to be <br /> incorporated: <br /> 1) Additional pathogen testing, is to be done on a monthly <br /> basis for three months (testing shall comply with <br /> Section 17868. 1) . <br /> 2) The pathogen to be tested for shall be Salmonella as <br /> set forth in Section 17868. 3 (b) (1) . <br /> 3) A tracking method shall be used to accurately and <br /> easily determine the temperature of each section of <br /> compost as it is turned and moves through the <br /> trapezoid. <br /> 4) At the end of the three month period the data obtained <br /> will be analyzed and a determination will be made at that <br /> time to the appropriateness of this proposal. <br /> If you have any questions please contact Steven Mindt, Sr. REHS, at <br /> (209) 468-0343 of my staff. <br /> Ernest M.
