Box 2009
Stockton, California 95201-2009
Dear Mr. Mindt:
This letter is written to your agency as a follow up of our letter dated
December 2, 1994 concerning Section 17891 regarding the laboratory results
we recently submitted for metals analysis. It has been determined that the
environmental health standards specified in Section 17887 were exceeded for
the metal Molybdenum (MO).
Our first contact was to the original testing laboratory, FGL Environmental,
to request the original sample be rerun. They had retained a sufficient amount
of the original sample to split and run two additional tests for MO only. The
results of these two retests were 18 and 10 mg/kg, both considerably lower
than the original test and within Section 17887 compliance. According to Mark
Ketcherside of FGL Environmental, these additional results presented the
likelihood that we had an isolated hot-spot in our original sample.
We also requested FGL complete additional sampling and testing as soon
as possible. Attached are the results of two additional tests, one from a sample
taken from the finished compost pile and one from the raw (unfinished) compost
pile. The trace metals results for each sample are shown to be " Not Detected
at or above the Detection Limit for Reporting Purposes".
Per Section 17891 (b), we have researched the possible causes of the
trace metal MO in the original sample and have come to the following
conclusions;
— 1 -
1333 E.TURNER ROAD P.O.
