SAN J 0 A Q U 1 N Environmental Health Department
U ; i y 1 Iii AMENDED
11/2/2020
Small Quantity Hazardous Waste Generator Inspection Report
Facility Name: Facility Address: Date:
BATH & BODY WORKS#65 5308 PACIFIC AVE, STOCKTON October 28, 2020
SUMMARY OF VIOLATIONS
(CLASS I,CLASS II,or MINOR-Notice to Comply)
Item# Remarks
106 CCR 66262.34(d)(2) Failed to train employees on waste handling and emergency procedures.
OBSERVATION: At the time of inspection, it could not be demonstrated (not necessarily documented)that
employees who handle hazardous waste were properly trained, based on the following observations and violations:
1. See violations 403 and 605.
2. The Bath&Body Works Hazardous Waste Training Guide, observed next to one of two of the facility's hazardous
waste storage areas, suggests that State-Regulated &Toxic hazardous waste and Aerosol & Flammable hazardous
waste are to be stored in separate containers. However, a 30-or 55-gallon black poly drum and a tote were each
storing State-Regulated&Toxic hazardous waste, such as damaged scented candles, lotions, liquid hand and body
soaps, and Aerosol &Flammable hazardous waste, such as fragrance mists and anti-bacterial hand sanitizer gels,
together in both drums.
REGULATION GUIDANCE: The business owner must ensure that all employees are thoroughly familiar with proper
waste handling and emergency procedures, relevant to their responsibilities during normal facility operations and
emergencies.
CORRECTIVE ACTION: Immediately re-train the employees. Provide proof of re-training, and a copy of the
training materials, within 30 days to the San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department(EHD)for
employees whose responsibilities include hazardous waste.
This is a Class II violation.
FA0024348 PR0542379 SCO01 10/28/2020
EHD 22-01 Rev.9/16/2020 Page 4 of 10 Small Quantity Hazardous Waste Generator OIR
1868 E.
