ON-SITE EXISTING WELL DESCRIPTION
There is one existing groundwater supply well on the property. According to EHD permit
86-1074, the well was installed in August 1986 as a replacement well for the former site
well destroyed under the same permit (Appendix B). The well is composed of 8-inch
diameter steel casing installed in a 12-inch diameter bore hole to a total depth of 50 feet
bsg. The well is open bottomed with the grout seal installed to 50 feet bsg. The onsite
well provides potable water to the existing residence and property.
4.4. CONSTITUENTS BEING TESTED FOR IN THE WATER SAMPLE
Nitrate (NO3) constituents were tested in the existing groundwater supply well at the
subject property.
4.5. GROUNDWATER SAMPLE COLLECTION
On 15 October 2020, a water sample was collected in an unpreserved 0.5-liter plastic
container from the existing groundwater supply well at 17835 Tretheway Road. The
groundwater sample container was properly labeled, placed in a chilled container and
transported under chain-of-custody protocols to McCampbell Analytical, Inc. (MAI), a
California Environmental Laboratory Accreditation Program (ELAP)-certified laboratory.
The sample was analyzed for Nitrate as Nitrogen (N) and Nitrate as NO3-.
4.6. GROUNDWATER ANALYTICAL REPORT
Nitrate as N and Nitrate as NO3- were not detected above laboratory reporting limits in
the water sample collected from the onsite domestic water well. The MAI laboratory report
(Work Order: 2010876) with quality assurance/quality control (QA/QC) reports and chain-
of-custody form are provided in Appendix C.
5.0. SOIL PROFILE
An OWTS Permit was issued for the property by the EHD on 06 October 2020 to perform
a percolation test (Appendix D). On 15 October 2020, a 4-inch diameter hand auger was
utilized to advance a percolation test hole to 42 inches bsg, in the proposed septic system
disposal field area.
