Hi Giuseppe , The Stockton Fire Department has received the subject application and has conducted a review . Effective January 1st , 2020, with the state adoption of the 2019 California Fire Code , mobile food preparation vehicles are now required to be in conformance with the California Fire Code , Chapter 3 , Section 319 . The following comments/ conditions will be applicable : • Location of the food truck from the canopy structure must be at minimum 10 feet away . • Canopy structure requires a building permit and fire permit . Building plans shall be submitted to the San Joaquin County Building Department and to the Stockton Fire Department for review and approval . • If the food truck is cooking/frying foods that produce grease - laden vapors , it is required to have an exhaust hood and fire extinguishing system meeting UL 300 Standards . In addition , a Class K fire extinguisher is also required . • The food truck will require an operational fire permit . • Occupant load for the dining area shall be provided upon time of building plans submittal . A floor plan reflecting the seating layout ( tables and chairs ) shall also be provided . An occupant load sign will be required once it has been recorded . • Portable fire extinguishers will be required for the canopy structure . Please route these conditions to the applicant .
