San Joaquin Community Development Department
1810 E. Hazelton Avenue,
Stockton, CA 95205
11/4/2022
Alisa Goulart:
Re: Application number PA-2000048 (SA)
My husband and 1 purchased (8888 Pine Street,Thornton, CA 95686) last year—the lot behind
the proposed project site of Thornton Rd. and Walnut Grove Rd.,Thornton. We were not
informed of this proposed project by the county, the seller, or the real estate agency that sold _
our lat to us.
Since the purchase of our lot, we have jumped through all the hoops the county placed for us to
go through, all the permits for septic, garage, and having our modular home moved in.The
process was extremely expensive, and it took us a year to navigate through all the paperwork
(and regulations)the county placed before us.
find it ironic that after all the misery(and expense)the country put us through they never
mentioned the fact that right behind us there was a planned project that would negatively
impact our home. Maybe they thought since we are senior citizens,we wouldn't notice that a
nasty septic tank for afast-food restaurant/gas station that operates seven days a week...was
getting pumped RIGHT behind our back yard.
When 1 look at the application, 1 see that the county knew about the "proposed" plan in
2020...long before we bought our lot or spent our life's savings on our new home. I am sure
there is a law about "disclosure'that the county, the real estate company, and the seller broke.
My husband and I wlll fight this "project" unless the following specifications are met:
We demand that an 8-foot cement (or rock wall) be built by the property owner or applicant at
the back of our lot (where the current metal fencing is). This will block out the noise and traffic
from 24 hours of customers and their unsightly vehicles. The wall needs to encompass the
whole width of our backyard.
David and Carol Pinnell
P.O.
