0 Page 1 of 2
Jennifer Frase [EH]
From: Christine Zador[christinezador@yahoo.com]
Sent: Thursday, September 25, 2008 11:32 AM
To: Jennifer Frase[EH]
Subject: Rifle Range Plan Extention
San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department,
I am writing to ask for an 6 month extension to the plan that I proposed March 21, 2008.
At this point, we have been able to remove all tires less one load which I have spoke to and arranged
retrieval by George Padilla. I have trip logs of all tire removals except the last load. Once All tires are
removed, I will send the remaining trip logs to you.
We have removed a very large amount of waste. After Jeanne came out, we agreed that the pit was
considered done. What is left is on the top level. The amount left is a fraction compared to what we
began with. I am currently trying to find some help with picking up the rest. I had sent pictures prior to
also show the very large amount of metal scraps we had removed to show efforts further.
I have kept receipts for all expenses thus far:
Trash removal - 1, 521.51
Tire removal - 4,600
Tractor rental - 1,061.01
Gas Expenses - 230.79
Misc expenses- 68.11
TOTAL $7,481.42
Cash has been tight throughout this very large job. Finding help has been limited because of our already
busy schedules. Thursdays and Fridays have been the only days we can really get anybody in the back
portion of the property because of our business hours. Shutting down the Rifle Range is really not an
option because it is our only hope to fund this project.
We have quiet a large job still ahead of us. Finding enough soil to cover the ground 12 inches and then
hiring someone to grade it will be not only be very difficult, but very expensive. Robert, Jeanne
mentioned to me that you are very resourceful. I would appreciate any advise or contacts to find soil at
minimal cost. I will continue my efforts to find help and get the final stages of the proposal started. Our
next step upon approval of extension is to get the last remains of trash off the property to remove the
violation that still exists on the last inspection report.
I appreciate all your advise, patience, and understanding. I know that my dad has his way of doing
things.l on the other hand can see the issues with that and have been pushing to get this done to the best
of my ability, to get these issues resolved to your satisfaction. I apologize for my dad's ability to not see
the importance of past attempts from the county. Thank you for working with me personally to get this
done and looking past the mistakes of my father.
Let me know what else I need to do at this time and again, Thank You!
9/26/2008
