Here is the open violation:
At the time of inspection, it could not be demonstrated (not necessarily documented)that employees who handle
hazardous waste were properly trained. Bryan Conley, Harbor Master, said that the
employees had initial training when they started the job but had not had any training since. Facility had employees that
had been working there over a year.
REGULATION GUIDANCE: The business owner must ensure that all employees are thoroughly familiar with proper
waste handling and emergency procedures, relevant to their responsibilities during normal facility operations and
emergencies.
CORRECTIVE ACTION: Immediately train the employees. Provide proof of training within 30 days to the San
Joaquin County Environmental Health Department (EHD)for employees whose responsibilities include hazardous
waste.
Any help you could provide would be great.
Thank You,
John Alaniz
REHS
San Joaquin County
Environmental Health Department
1868 E Hazelton Avenue
Stockton, California 95205
Phone: (209) 616-3053
Fax: (209)468-3433
Please note, my email address has changed to jalanizl@sjgov.org.
2
