INTRODUCTION
Amazon.com Services LLC – OAK4 (Amazon) is committed to continually researching and
implementing methods to reduce hazardous waste generation. The Hazardous Waste Source
Reduction and Management Review Act of 1989, also referred to as Senate Bill 14 (SB 14), requires
certain hazardous waste generators to formally identify source reduction opportunities and prepare a
report on performance at their facilities. Amazon operations located at 1555 N Chrisman Road in
Tracy, California generated greater than 12,000 kilograms (26,400 pounds) of hazardous waste in
2019. Therefore, ERM-West, Inc. (ERM), on behalf of Amazon, has prepared this Hazardous Waste
Management Performance Report for the facility in accordance with SB 14 and the California Code of
Regulations (CCR), Title 22, Section 67100.8.

The Performance Report documents the facility’s efforts and effectiveness in managing and
minimizing hazardous waste and includes sufficient detail to convey an understanding of the facility’s
hazardous waste management approaches. Discussions on source reduction and viable options for
recycling, treatment, and disposal are also addressed. The Performance Report serves as a way for
the generator to share its waste management improvement efforts with the public.
In accordance with the requirements of SB 14, ERM completed a source reduction evaluation for the
facility and prepared the following three documents:
1. Hazardous Waste Source Reduction Plan;
2. Hazardous Waste Management Performance Report; and
3. Summary Progress Report.

SB 14 was amended in July 2012 by SB 1018. The law no longer requires generators to submit the
Summary Progress Report to the Department of Toxic Substances Control. However, the Summary
Progress Report must be retained onsite with the other documents.

Signed copies of the Performance Report, as well as the Source Reduction Plan and Summary
Progress Report, must be retained onsite and provided to regulatory agencies upon request.
