Presto, Carol [EHD]
From: Presto, Carol [EHD]
Sent: Monday,January 11, 2021 10:45 AM
To: jazzsekhon@aol.com
Subject: 420 W Kettleman - Tokay Shell Questions
Good Morning Jazz,
Regarding your questions from Friday:
Has the Return to Compliance been received by Environmental Health?
I've looked through our file and I don't see that we've received a Return to Compliance (RTC)for Tokay Shell's inspection
from 5/7/2020. If you have a copy of the email where you've sent the RTC to the Environmental Health Department
(EHD),you may forward that email over and I can note that it was sent to EHD on whatever date the email was originally
sent. Or if you have a copy of the RTC from last year, you may submit that to me and I can review and close out any open
violations, but it would be submitted as of the date I received it.
Isn't the annual testing date in April?
I've reviewed the previous annual testing for Tokay Shell and the annual testing for Tokay Shell has been in January since
2014. In 2019 the annual testing for the waste oil tank was conducted late in April instead of January. The following year
in 2020,the testing was conducted in May instead of January. This was also late. You are not able to reset your annual
testing dates unless you are in compliance for testing that year. For example, if you would like your annual testing dates
to be in April, then you would have to do annual testing in January to meet the annual requirement and then test again
in April to reset the date to April. It is not allowed to be late on testing and that late date to become the new annual
date. The original date should be met before a new date can be chosen.
Please schedule an annual monitoring system certification for Tokay Shell for this month to meet the annual testing
requirements. If you would like to reset the annual testing date to later in the year, you may do so by completing the
annual test this month and then scheduling another test later this year. Whenever the second test date will be, will be
your new annual date.
If you have any questions please let me know.
Thank you and have a great rest of the week!
All the Best,
Carol Presto
Environmental Health Specialist Trainee
San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department
Email: cpresto@sjgov.org
Phone: (209) 616-3061
https://www.s*gov.org/department/envhealth/
In order to comply with the Regional Stay at Home order effective December 6,2020,the Environmental Health Department's public lobby will be
limited to no more than two customers at a time.
