MORRIS
SHAFFER
E N G I N E E R I N G
January 7, 2020
Tony Grizelj
Metal Finishing Solutions, Inc.
1325 EI Pinal Drive
Stockton, CA 95205
Tank System Integrity Report
Morris Shaffer Engineering Project# 20238 [Previous 18211]
On October 14, 2020 and January 4, 2021 an engineer from our office visited Metal Finishing Solutions in
Stockton to conduct a system integrity assessment of the following tanks, associated piping, and secondary
containment of the Waste Treating Area containing hazardous waste:
Tank# Description
WT-T1 Acid Waste Cylindrical CAR 000285262
WT-T2 Alkaline Waste Cylindrical CAR 000285262
C1X-T1 System Feed Tank Cylindrical CAR 000285262
C1X-T2 DI Holding Tank Cylindrical CAR 000285262
FN-T1 Neutralization Stage 1 Cylindrical CAR 000285262
FN-T2 Neutralization Stage 2 Cylindrical CAR 000285262
FEED Feed Tank Cylindrical CAR 000285262
Based on these inspections and our evaluation,we are providing this written certification for the above
mentioned tanks following the guidelines of Title 22 California Code of Regulations, Chapter 15,Article 10,
Section 66265.192.
Our system integrity assessment consisted of a visual inspection of the tanks, associated piping, mechanical
pumps,and the secondary containment berm. At the time of inspection,the above mentioned tanks were filled;
therefore,we were unable to inspect the inside of the tanks. While our external inspection of the tanks
concluded that the tanks appeared to be in good condition,we recommend that an internal inspection of the
tanks be completed when it is feasible. No leak tests, internal inspection,or other tank system integrity
examination (i.e.,ultrasonic,volumetric tank test, pipeline pressure, etc) were performed. No evidence of
leaking was noticed during our visual inspection. Only the filter press columns showed signs of corrosive
damage. We recommend that the rust be removed, and the steel be primed and painted with a suitable
corrosive resistive paint.
1300 INDUSTRIAL ROAD,SUITE 14,SAN CARLOS, CA 94070, (650) 595-2973 FAX (650) 595-2980
