Release prevention barriers <br /> 1. Spill control systems <br /> 2. Inspect the Tank based on its construction,per the following: <br /> a. Double-wall protected tank of a horizontal cylindrical design, elevated above the ground. <br /> 3.0 GENERAL SITE AND TANK DESCRIPTION <br /> Principal Facility activity is the operation of a youth correctional facility and includes a private diesel and <br /> gasoline cardlock fuel station. The Tank is used for storage of unleaded gasoline in support of the Facility <br /> fuel station.Refer to Photo 1 and Photo 2 for general exterior conditions.The Tank diameter was 108 inches <br /> (9 feet)with an overall length of 264 inches(22 feet). The Tank appeared to be shop-fabricated and was in <br /> service at the time of inspection. Refer to Figure 1 for a diagram of the Tank. The provided tank inspection <br /> summary follows the STI Formal External Inspection (FEI) criteria. The FEI items for the Tank are <br /> described below: <br /> 3.1 FORMAL EXTERNAL INSPECTION <br /> 1. General <br /> 1.1. A FEI was performed by Jordan Johnson, an STI Certified Inspector(AST Inspector No. <br /> AST-T10388). <br /> 1.2. The Tank currently functions as storage for unleaded gasoline, a flammable material with <br /> an approximate flash point of-40 degrees Celsius.Given the characteristics of the material <br /> stored and the construction of the Tank, the inspector referenced the STI SP001 tank <br /> inspection standard as a guideline. <br /> 1.3. The previous annual inspection report and three latest monthly inspections were provided <br /> to the inspector for review.The client was not aware of previous formal inspection reports. <br /> 1.4. The Tank manufacturer's nameplate and UL nameplate were observed on the top of the <br /> Tank(Photo 3). The Tank's manufacture date was not included on the label. The Tank was <br /> manufactured according to the UL 2085 construction standard. <br /> 1.5. The fabrication of the Tank was inspected using STI SP001 as the applicable industry <br /> standard. <br /> 1.6. The Tank foundation was inspected for indications of settlement,cracking, exposed rebar, <br /> and general disrepair.
