Lastly, we're going to cover Safety Controls.
Different types of Safety Controls guard us against injury in the workplace. One type of Safety
Control is Safe Work Practices.
Here's some safe work practices for whenever you use hazardous chemicals:
1.If you are unfamiliar with the chemical hazards, read the Safety Data Sheets first..
2.Whenever possible, avoid the use of hazardous chemicals, or substitute for less hazardous
chemicals.
3.If you do use hazardous chemicals, limit the volume of hazardous chemicals to the minimum
needed.
4.Keep work areas clean and orderly.
5.Provide means of containing the material if primary containers break or spill, like secondary
containers and sorbent material.
6.If a spill occurs and you are unfamiliar on how to clean it, contact your supervisor
immediately.
7.Apply engineering and/or administrative controls to reduce exposure.
8.Use the necessary personal protective equipment like gloves and eye protection.
Published by Articulate® Storyline www.articulate.com
