The vast majority of the waste encountered has been
comprised of broken glass with varying amounts of finer-grained “matrix” material (as described in the AGE reports).
Some of the glass waste with matrix is somewhat “cemented” and hard (a D6 dozer will be mobilized to the site early
next week to rip/remove “cemented” glass waste that cannot be efficiently removed with the blade and scraper that
have been working the site). Minor amounts of plastic sheeting fragments have been associated with the glass waste,
and exceedingly sparse metal debris (such as sheet metal, a few beverage cans, etc.) and very rare small pieces of wood
have been encountered. Further, no deeper “pits” of waste have been encountered beneath the capped area; obvious
undisturbed native deposits have been identified beneath the waste layer in the areas cleared so far.
The work at the site is now stopped until the forecasted storm passes, and I will update the group as to the schedule for
resuming next week once the site is evaluated by the contractor on Sunday or Monday. Weather permitting, it is
anticipated that the work can be completed by mid-next week.
Joe
Joe Brusca
Brusca Associates, Inc.
1860 Sierra Gardens Drive, #332
Roseville, CA 95661
Phone (916) 677-1470
Fax (916) 677-1471
BruscaAssociates.com
From: Young, Glenn@CalRecycle <Glenn.Young@CalRecycle.ca.gov>
Sent: Wednesday, April 4, 2018 4:42 PM
To: Joe Brusca <jbrusca@bruscaassociates.com>; 'Palmer, Ann@Waterboards' <Ann.Palmer@waterboards.ca.gov>;
'Djuth, Gerald@Waterboards' <Gerald.Djuth@waterboards.ca.gov>; Ambrose, Sabra@CalRecycle
<Sabra.Ambrose@CalRecycle.ca.gov>; 'Robert McClellon' <rmcclellon@sjcehd.com>; danap@reynoldsandbrown.com;
'Linda Turkatte [EH]' <LTurkatte@sjcehd.com>; 'Troy Estacio' <troyestacio@buzzoates.com>; 'Cybil Bryant'
<CybilBryant@buzzoates.com>; 'Jason Gray' <jasongray@buzzoates.com>; 'Rollo Stephens' <Rollo@ramcon.com>; Mick
Ramos <Mick@ramcon.com>; 'Brian Millman' <bmillman@advgeoenv.com>; 'William Little' <wlittle@advgeoenv.com>;
'Harprit S.
