1[V. SITE CONTROL <br />Description of Work Zone and Boundaries (Site Map Attached) <br />All sampling and decontamination activities will be performed within hneral study area. <br />Standard Operating Procedures: <br />A. Sampling procedures: Sampling will be conducted in accordance with standard environmental protocol <br />B. Excavations: not anticipated <br />C. Permit -required Confined Spaces: none <br />D. Heat Stress: Heat stress is often the greatest site hazard At temperatures above 70 degrees F., especially if <br />PPE is used, appropriate cooling equipment, cooled drinking fluids, and frequent breaks will be provided. <br />Personnel will make every effort to prevent and treat heat stress in accordance with first aid training. <br />E. Material Safety Data Sheets; no hazazdous chemicals use is anticipated. <br />F. All personnel arriving or departing the site will verbally inform the Environmental Specialist on-site. All <br />activities on site must be cleared through the Principal or Staff Geologist. <br />G. Normal and Emergency Communications: Acellular phone will be present on -she. <br />H. If adverse weather is possible, monitor a local ra <br />dio broadcast station m• other service to stay abreast of the <br />weather. <br />I. All operations an <br />d equipment will comply with OSHA Regulations 29 CFR 1910.120 and other applicable <br />elements of OSHA 29 CFR 1910 and 1926. Bafore site operations begin all employees involved in these <br />operations will have read and understood this site safety plan. <br />J. Training and medical monitoring: All routine site personnel are required 40 -hour HAZWOPER tr <br />aining and 8- <br />hourannual refresher training and medical monitoring. Employees with 24-hour training may perform specific <br />tasks, provided that it is ensured that they will not be exposed to health hazards above permissible exposure <br />limits. Visitors or support personnel who remain in the support zone are not required health and safety training. <br />
