CAC SECTION OBSERVATIONS RESULT
17705 Gas Control. There was no cause to believe that gas I
would cause a hazard or nuisance to
the public since there were no
buildings within 1,000 feet of the
site perimeter . I did measure for
landfill gas in on-site buildings and
recorded gas levels of 0. 0% methane.
Since there were on site buildings
situated above waste, this section
must be evaluated using an OVA
(organic vapor analyzer) and will
remain indeterminate until then.
17706 Dust Control . I did not observe any dust on the day C
of my inspection. A 500 gallon water
truck was available on site for dust
control.
17707 Vector and Bird I did not observe any vectors on-site. C
Control . There was a large population of gulls
feeding on the waste. The operator,
Carl Maxwell, was shooting . 22 blanks
with screamers to scare the gulls off.
There were no residences or airports
near the site.
17708 Drainage and I observed that erosion, had exposed V
Erosion waste, on the northern portion of the
Control . west trench wall. (See photo I-2-9,
I-2-10 )
17709 Contact with I did not observe waste to be in C
Water . contact with water .
17710 Grading of Fill Grading accounted for settlement and C
Surfaces . promoted lateral runoff. There was no
evidence of ponding on fill surfaces.
17711 Litter Control . I did not observe accumulations of C
litter which would cause a public
nuisance. Litter was picked up on a
weekly basis and according to Carl
Maxwell, operator/supervisor , if the
situation warrants it , a crew from the
prison helps with litter collection.
17712 Noise Control . Noise levels did not cause a public C
nuisance.
ell
Page No. 7 of 10 Inspector :
