Increased Waste Quantities Project <br />Corral Hollow Sanitary Landfill <br />1* 3 40 6% C11 <br />This environmental document addresses the environmental issues <br />associated with increasing the amount of solid waste to be disposed <br />of at the Corral Hollow Sanitary Landfill. The project of record <br />is an application to San Joaquin County Public Health Services for <br />a Solid Waste Facilities Permit. For purposes of environmental <br />review, the San Joaquin County Department of Public Works is the <br />Lead Agency for this project. <br />Contained within this document is a project description and the <br />Initial Study form. Incorporated into the Initial Study form is a <br />discussion of environmental issues by topic as necessary, and <br />proposed mitigation measures to avoid or reduce to insignificance <br />the potential environmental impacts associated with the project. <br />This document was prepared by Baracco and Associates (P.O. Box <br />1415, Sutter Creek, CA 95685, telephone 209/223-2357) under <br />contract with the Department of Public Works, Solid Waste Division. <br />Bruce Baracco served as principal author. <br />N <br />The Corral Hollow Sanitary Landfill is an existing facility <br />operated by San Joaquin County. The landfill comprises <br />approximately 45 acres and is classified as a Class III Sanitary <br />Landfill. <br />1;LL6111*40 <br />The project site is located approximately five miles southwest of <br />the City of Tracy, in southwest San Joaquin County. The facility <br />is located on the south side of Corral Hollow Road just west of <br />Interstate 580. (Refer to Figure 1: Vicinity Map.) <br />3 <br />
