14.
15.
DISCUSSION: During January 1992, the landfill averaged 80
trip ends per day. If the daily capacity is increased by 30%
(from 850 tons per day to 1,200 tons per day), it is expected
that vehicle traffic will also increase by 41%, to an average
of 113 trip ends per day. Peak hour traffic is estimated to
be 16 trip ends, which is considered to be a small but an
incremental increase to Corral Hollow Road. No significant
impacts from peak hour traffic due to increased waste
quantities are anticipated.
MITIGATION MEASURES: County personnel will direct traffic
during peak traffic times to avoid disruption of traffic
flows. A signage program will be maintained by County
personnel in order to direct traffic in and out of the
facility.
Yes No Maybe
PUBLIC SERVICES - Will the proposed project
result in:
An effect upon, or result in a need for new
or altered government services in any of the
following areas:
a. Fire protection? X
b. Police protection? X
C. Schools? X
DISCUSSION: Existing public services are adequate for the
proposed project.
MITIGATION MEASURES: No mitigation is necessary.
Yes No Maybe
ENERGY - Will the proposed project result
in:
a. Use of substantial amounts of fuel
or energy? X
b. Substantial increase in demand upon
existing sources of energy or a
requirement for the development of new
sources of energy? X
DISCUSSION: A short-term increase in the amount of fuel used
on-site is anticipated. However, future fuel savings will
more than offset projected increases when the site closes.
MITIGATION MEASURES: No mitigation is necessary.
11
