Ll
From: Benjamin Escotto [EH]
Sent: Monday, March 12, 2012 2:51 PM
To: Robert McClellon [EH]
Subject: Valley Organics Complaint
Robert,
This email is in reference to the Valley Organics complaint (CO0034703) made on 3/5/12. A site visit was
conducted on 3/8/12. The first allegation was that the facility was storing the feedstock too high. All piles were
visually measured and found to be within the limits set by the Manteca -Lathrop Fire Department (150ft x 250ft x
15ft). The next allegation stated that there was two large piles of ash (from the 9/18/11 fire) remaining on the
property. The property was walked and no piles of ash were observed. The next allegation was that food waste
was being brought in for compost. All feedstock piles were examined and only incidental amounts of food waste
was observed. The last allegation was that significant amount of vehicles were coming in to the facility. The
tonnage report for the month of February 2012 was examined. The tonnage report shows the number of vehicles
coming to drop off material. The highest number of vehicles for a single day was 19 (2/25/12) and the lowest
number of vehicles for single day was 4 (2/10/12). The average number of vehicles for the month of February
2012 was 10. In summary, none of the allegations on this complaint were found to be factual.
Ben Escotto
