The plans were submitted as a pre-packaged store and
shortly after a soda fountain and three-compartment sink were added to the plans. We adjusted and required a 3
compartment sink and larger water heater. We mistakenly forgot to adjust the flooring requirement in the back area
and I apologize for that. Unfortunately, the base material still needs to be fixed.
The back area, as well as the restroom, cannot have rubber/vinyl base. The base needs to be a 3/8-inch radius cove base
material. At this time we cannot approve the opening of this facility until the base portion of the floor is fixed. There
are a variety of different materials you can use to achieve the 3/8-inch radius base. You could use a slim foot base or
schluter cove base directly over the concrete floors. Attached is a picture of"slimfoot tile' for you to see.
If you have any questions feel free to call or e-mail,
Thanks,
Jeff
Jeff CarrueSCO, REHS Program Coordinator
San Joaquin County Environmental Health
1868 E.
