POOL HAS SCUM ON THE SIDES AND <br /> MOLD. THE HOT TUB NEXT TO THE POOL HAS HAIR, MOLD ALLAROUND THE OUTSIDE,AND SCUM. THE <br /> SHOWERS IN THE FACILITY HAS HAIR BALLS AND MOLD ON THE EDGES. THE FLOOR NEAR THE POOLALWAYS <br /> HAS A LAYER OF WATER AND SCUM, WHICH CAUSES SLIPPAGE. PLEASE CONTACT COMPLAINANT BACK WITH <br /> FINDINGS." <br /> VIOLATIONS AND CORRECTIVE ACTIONS <br /> Items listed on this report as violations do not meet the requirements set forth in the California Health and Safety Code section(s)116043,116040,& <br /> 116050. All violations must be corrected within specified timeframe. Violations that are classified as"MAJOR"pose an immediate threat to public health <br /> and must be corrected immediately or be subject to closure pursuant to California Code of Regulations(Title 22)section 65545. <br /> OVERALL INSPECTION NOTES AND COMMENTS <br /> NOTES <br /> Similar complaint received C00042885 -will abate after calling complainant. Additionally, several patrons complained while I <br /> was conducting the inspection (similar complaints as well as a complaint of dusty ceiling air vents in the pool area, filthy tile <br /> grout, and "black mold" in the men's showers). <br /> Management was not aware of the customer complaints. Management states that they are currently without a pool tech, but a <br /> new hire will begin on Monday. Tech from a different club location was on site this morning at 7 am to conduct pool chemical <br /> testing. Pool logs are current. <br /> Upon inspection, the pool levels are as follows: Free chlorine 9.6 ppm, combined chlorine 1.0 ppm, 7.4 pH, and cyanuric acid <br /> is <30 ppm. The spa levels are as follows: Free chlorine 1.8 ppm (chlorine was added and rechecked at 4.0 ppm), 1.4 ppm <br /> combined chlorine, 7.2 pH, and cyanuric acid is <30 ppm. <br /> Observations today: <br /> The interior pool and spa tiles and plaster are clean. Observed some clumps of hairin the women's showers (removed on <br /> site), the tile grout in the women's showers has some mildew, the 3 1/2 foot depth marker tile and no diving tile at the pool <br /> entrance/exit steps is broken, some of the grout sealant at the pool deck is coming loose from the grooves the ceiling vents in <br /> the pool enclosure are dusty, and the pool deck tile has dirty grout in places. <br /> Per Management, the pool and spa levels are checked twice daily, showers and restrooms are checked hourly and cleaned <br /> as needed, the pool is closed on Fridays from 10am to 11:30 am to clean out deck grates and to scrub pool deck(the pool <br /> deck is power scrubbed every 2 weeks -next scheduled scrub is on 2-7-17). <br /> Corrective Action: <br /> 1) Reduce the combined chlorine level in the pool and spa to 0.4 ppm-this may require shocking the water. Correct by 3 <br /> days. <br /> 2)Thoroughly clean the restrooms and showers: remove debris, clean grout and maintain clean. Correct ASAP. <br /> 3) Clean the ceiling vents in the pool enclosure.Correct ASAP. <br /> 4) Replace the broken tiles at the pool entrance/ext ladder.
