The leaked/leaking chemicals listed below were observed throughout the facility,on the floor, floor pallets, Pick
Module(MOD)floor grates and concrete floor, facility equipment, or on product boxes in the MODS,without any
facility personnel actively working to clean up and/or identify if these chemicals were hazardous waste.According to
the Dollar Tree California (CA)Store Quick Reference Guide, damaged and leaking chemical items are to be
identified as either waste, hazardous waste, or sellable product, and hazardous waste is to be managed/processed
properly. It was unclear how often the facility cleans up and identifies leaking chemicals throughout the facility. It
was unknown how long ago the following containers of chemicals leaked or began leaking:
1) Found on a floor pallet, an open unlabeled container of eleven bottles of orange dish soap, at least four of
which were contaminated with a white substance, two which were open and partially empty, and at least one with a
broken cap (see photos IMG 8691-3).Two bottles of White Rain Body Wash, and a can of Rockstar Energy Drink
were also found in the open container.
2) Found on a floor pallet, an open unlabeled container of at least 7 bottles of green Fresh Apple Dish Soap, at
least one of which was leaking (IMG 8694-6).
3) Found on the floor, a spilled 14 fl oz bottle of Ultra Ajax liquid dish soap(IMG 8701-2).
4) Found on the floor and floor pallets in the Aerosol/Flammables Room, at least six unlabeled cardboard boxes
completely or partially contaminated with motor oil due to leaking bottles of Driver's Choice SAE 1 OW-30 Motor Oil.
A pallet and cardboard on the pallet, was also contaminated with what appeared to be motor oil. (IMG 8703-5)
5) Found on a MOD floor grate and in damaged cardboard boxes on a pallet, at least 26 bottles of pink Fresh
Berries Assured Moisturizing Hand Soap, some of which leaked through the floor grate onto product boxes and the
concrete floor(IMG 8711-4, 8735-8).
6) Found on a MOD floor grate in front of a trash chute, two Dollar Tree open plastic bags containing bottles of
pink Fresh Berries Assured Moisturizing Hand Soap, some of which had poked holes through the bags and were
leaking (IMG 8715-7).
7) Found on a MOD floor grate behind pallets of product boxes, a damaged cardboard box contaminated from
leaky containers of LA's Totally Awesome liquid laundry detergent(IMG 8724-6). Five containers of the non-leaking
laundry detergent had been moved to the outside of a nearby trash chute (IMG 8723).
8) Found on a product box, a damaged leaking container of Klar&Danver Antibacterial orange liquid hand soap,
with a missing cap pump(IMG 8733-4).
9) Found on the MOD concrete floor, eight bottles of Lime-A-Way which appeared to have spilled (IMG 8741).
The spillage appeared dry(IMG 8742).
10) Found on the MOD concrete floor beneath a pallets of product, at least 25 containers of Glade solid air
fresheners, some of which were open and unlabeled (IMG 8743-6).
11) Found on the floor,at least 15 bottles of Ajax liquid laundry detergent, inside and outside of three damaged
cardboard boxes, at least one of which was contaminated with a leaking bottle of the Ajax laundry detergent(IMG
8747-8).
12) Found on the floor,a nearly empty damaged leaky container of orange Assured Moisturizing Hand Soap, and
historical staining/spillage from the soap(IMG 8750-1).
13) Found on the floor,a broken empty glass container of Homesaver Chimney and Fireplace Deodorant, labeled
as a combustible flammable liquid.
