SAN J O A Q I I I N Environmental Health Department L -0 U N T Y I�I AMENDED 10/28/2019 RCRA Large Quantity Hazardous Waste Generator Inspection Report Facility Name: Facility Address: Date: Dollar Tree Distribution Center-Stockton 1 1122 Runway Dr, Stockton October 14, 2019 SUMMARY OF VIOLATIONS (CLASS I,CLASS II,or MINOR-Notice to Comply) Item# Remarks filled with more bottles of the body wash. -At least six tubes of Jot Tempera Paint -At three bottles of Assured Tussin Mucus&Chest Conjestion medicine -At least one bottle of Arm& Hammer 3-in-1 Body Wash/Shampoo/Conditioner -At least one bottle of pink nail polish -An open package containing two AA Alkaline Sunbeam batteries 45)On the north side of the facility,several unlabeled closed cardboard boxes were observed stacked two rows high on a pallet beneath several silver 16 fl oz bottles of SMB Synthetic Blend 1OW-30 SAE Motor Oil (IMG 8872, 8878).At least seven of the cardboard boxes were seen with dark staining/leakage(IMG 8872). 46)On the north side of the facility,several unlabeled closed cardboard boxes were observed stacked four rows high on a pallet(IMG 8873).At least 15 of the cardboard boxes were seen with dark staining/leakage(IMG 8873-4, 8879-81).The boxes contained silver16 fl oz bottles of SMB Synthetic Blend 1OW-30 SAE Motor Oil (IMG 8875-7). 47)On the north side of the facility, an open cardboard box of several boxes of Sensitive Fluoride Anticavity Whitening Toothpaste, at least four of which were damaged, and a light bulb,was observed on a cart(IMG 8882). 48)A 96 fl oz container of LA's Totally Awesome Bleach was found damaged and missing its cap, and a solid air freshener was found missing its label, inside an open unlabeled black tote near the hazardous waste storage area (IMG 8926-8). There were several bottles of Fabuloso multi-purpose cleaner,Ajax liquid dish soap, Palmolive liquid dish soap, and Air Wick aerosol cans also found inside the black tote. 49)A damaged open container of Comet cleaning powder containing bleach, and spillage of the Comet powder, was found on the floor of the facility(IMG 8929-30). 50)Spillage of an unknown dark brown gel material was observed on the facility floor near Pick Module 1 Zone A-B, where Charell Gaines,an employee, was observed sorting through damaged and un-damaged product(IMG 8936-7, 8940-1, 8943-44). Sherry Aebersold, Environmental Health &Safety Compliance Manager,was told by an employee that the spillage was grease that was leaking from a mechanical part on the conveyor belts at Pick Module 1. However, when Rebecca Corona, Hazmat employee,was asked by Sherry Aebersold and Gustavo Garcia, Operations Manager,to dump a dumpster of trash into the trash compactor,two leaky 8 oz containers of the dark brown gel material and labeled Softee Extra Hold Protein Sytling Gel,were found in the dumped trash in the compactor(IMG 8964, 8967-9).A leaky damaged bottle of hand soap that was previously thrown into the dumpster by Charell Gaines was also found in the trash that had just been dumped into the compactor(IMG 8933, 8964-6). 51)Two open seemingly empty 16.9 fl oz containers of Ajax multi-purpose containers were found standing upside down in an open unlabeled blue bin, beneath a damaged cardboard box of window cleaner containers(IMG 8947). Staining was observed at the bottom of the bin beneath the Ajax containers(IMG 8945-6). 52)An open 14 fl oz container of green Ultra Ajax liquid dish soap with a broken cap was found with spillage on cardboard boxes of product(IMG 8948). Several fallen green Ultra Ajax liquid dish soap containers could be seen on the MOD grate two levels above the spillage (IMG 8949-50). 5.An open tote containing various chemical containers,which were open and upside down, and appeared empty, was observed in the hazardous waste storage area (IMG 8649).A cloth was observed at the bottom of the tote, beneath the open containers.According to Sherry Aebersold, Environmental Health&Safety Compliance Manager, and Rebecca Corona, Hazmat employee,the chemical containers are opened and placed upside down in the tote to drain out any residual chemicals onto the cloth.
