To close the violations I'll need more information:
Violation 102:
1. The ImageMax Developer Cleaner can be handled and hauled from the site as fully regulated hazardous waste
using a hazardous waste manifest if a hazardous waste determination cannot demonstrate that it's non-
hazardous waste.
2. Please provide a copy of Safety Data Sheets (SDS)for all dental materials being disposed of in the regular trash.
Violation 715:
1. I've reviewed the receipts for disposal of the dental amalgam. The receipts do not show that Stericycle handles
this waste as universal waste. If Stericycle cannot provide information that mercury-containing dental amalgam
is going to a universal waste handling facility then the waste should be handled as a fully regulated hazardous
waste using a hazardous waste manifest.
2. Your facility disposes of electronic devices and batteries. Provide information that demonstrates that these
wastes are being taken to an appropriate recycler. Provide the business name and address.
Violation 3010:
ImageMax Developer and Fixer is being hauled from the site by Stericycle but the receipts do not show that the waste is
being recycled for silver content. Here are four options:
1. Handle as fully regulated hazardous waste and use a hazardous waste manifest for disposal OR
2. Self-haul to the San Joaquin County Small Business Hazardous Waste facility in Stockton. An EPA ID and
appointment are required. This option will work for all of your hazardous and universal
wastes. https://www.sigov.org/solidwaste/dynamic?id=22653 OR
3. Obtain information from Stericycle that the waste is being recycled for silver content OR
4. Demonstrate that this waste is not hazardous waste
Garrett Backus, Ld.
