Nature of complaint: complainant LINHARES <br /> alleges this facility is allowing indoor dining, they are packed with customers, no <br /> one is wearing masks (including the employees), and they overheard someone <br /> bragging that they had COVID. Called and spoke with the facility owner. Per <br /> owner, the facility is open for dining. Owner states that he has always complied <br /> with our Department's requirements, but he will remain. Owner states that ABC <br /> came by "about 10 days ago" and he was not cited. Owner states that he spoke <br /> with ABC and that ABC states they are backlogged by 3 weeks. Owner states that <br /> he does not want to lose his liquor license and that he understands what is going <br /> on with COVID-19, but he has employees to pay and his employees have families <br /> to support. Owner states that once all business are in 100% compliance, he will <br /> comply as well. But until that time he has decided to stay open. Owner states that <br /> an employee had a positive COVID test months ago, but followed the quarantine <br /> process before returning to work. I informed the owner that our Department is <br /> currently taking an educational approach to COVID related complaints that are <br /> received. I stated that the current order has temporarily discontinued indoor and <br /> outdoor dining and that a facility shall remain open for take-out or delivery only. <br /> The owner stated that he understood but has decided to remain open.
