Existing and Proposed Septic Tank Usage
Existing Septic System
No septic systems are currently located on the Site.
Proposed Septic System
Mr. Jaimes plans to build new septic systems for the new residences.
On-Site Septic Permit History
The San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department septic permit files were
searched for the Site address. Two permits were identified:
• May 1999 permit for destruction of a residential septic system (expired).
• October 2020 permit for destruction of a residential septic tank. The permit notes
that the residence had been demolished.
These permits have been included in Appendix 4 of this report.
Existing Septic Tank Usage in the Vicinity
To estimate the septic system usage in the area, our office counted septic systems that
exist within approximately one square mile surrounding the property. Air photo imagery
from Google Earth was used. Each building cluster on the photo was assumed to have
one septic system. Using this method, it is estimated that at least 245 septic systems
per square mile are located in the immediate vicinity of the Site. The residential parcels
to the west of the Site that are part of the City of Stockton and receive municipal sewer
services were not included in the estimate.
The Site is located within a rural residential neighborhood; to the west and east of this
neighborhood are higher density residential areas. A park lies to the south of the
neighborhood, and agricultural land lies to the north.
Septic Permit History in the Vicinity
Based on a review of septic permits on file at the San Joaquin County Environmental
Health Department for nearby properties, most septic systems in the area utilize leach
lines with 25-foot deep seepage pits; one system utilized leach lines with sumps, and
one utilized leach lines only. The septic permits can be found in Appendix 4 of this
report.
LOGE 20-63 Page 2
