SOIL SUITABILITY STUDY <br /> Introduction <br /> Live Oak GeoEnvironmental, Inc. (Live Oak) was contracted by Sal Serna to conduct a <br /> Soil Suitability Study and Nitrate Loading Study for his property located at 76 West <br /> Bowman Road, French Camp, California. <br /> The Soil Suitability Study and Nitrate Loading Study are combined under this report <br /> cover and presented as two sections of this report. The formatting of the report has <br /> been designed to follow the recommendations of the San Joaquin County <br /> Environmental Health Department as described in its Soil Suitability Study <br /> Requirements Checklist and Nitrate Loading Study Requirements Checklist. <br /> The Soil Suitability Study and Nitrate Loading Study were conducted to determine <br /> whether the soils are suitable for use with a septic system, as well as to estimate if the <br /> use of septic systems will impact ground water quality. The study was performed <br /> according to the requirements of Section 9-1105.2(d) of the San Joaquin County <br /> Development code. <br /> Proposed Development <br /> Mr. Serna plans to construct a second home on the Site. <br /> Site Description <br /> The Site is composed of Assessor's Parcel Number (APN) 193-260-19, 1.50 acres in <br /> size. The Site is located at 76 West Bowman Road, French Camp, California (Plate 1). <br /> One house is currently located on the Site. A domestic well and septic system serve <br /> the existing house (Plate 2). <br /> The elevation of the Site, according to a United States Geological Survey topographic <br /> map, is approximately 15 feet above mean sea level. The Site is relatively flat (Plate 3). <br /> According to the San Joaquin County District Viewer (sjmap.org), the Site is zoned AG- <br /> 40, limited agriculture with a minimum parcel size of 40 acres. The San Joaquin County <br /> Community Development Department states that this zoning designation "is intended to <br /> recognize and preserve areas that contain existing concentrations of small-scale <br /> agricultural operations and dwellings." <br /> LOGE 2109 Page 1 <br />
