20 ft segments, would be a 20 ft interval between 80 ft to 100 ft below ground surface (see attached E-
logs and Chip Trays). To summarize, please see below recommendations for GSJ well construction:
Filter Pack Material: 1/8" minus gravel pack with adequate development to reach <1 NTU.
Screened Interval: 80 ft to 100 ft below ground surface
Annular Seal Depth: terminate seal at 60 ft below ground surface and provide 20' blank casing
transition to upper screened zone per SJC EHD.
Completed Well Depth: 100 ft below ground surface
Backfill existing 180 ft deep borehole to within 10 ft (110 ft depth) of completed well depth,
using sealing material conforming to Section 4.7.3 of SJC EHD Well Standards, or as
recommended by SJC EHD.
Installation of backfilled material is intended to prevent intrusion into the upper zones
by the lower quality water contained in the lower zones.
Installation of sealing material shall be aided by the use of tremie or grout pipe, per SJC
EHD Well Standards Section 4.7.2.
If you feel these recommendations are not accurate to our prior discussion, please let me know.
Please let us know if the County finds this approach acceptable, otherwise we may provide an
alternative approach.
Thank you,
K KJELOSEN
S SINNOCK
N NEU DECK
inc.
