electrical and septic connection issues that were part of the red-tags. The water lines are simply hoses, and those have already been turned off, and can be disconnected as part of the demolition. As we understand it, the south end houseboats 5, 6, and 7, all have independent septic systems and tanks, so those should presumably each be separate demolition permits. The north side houseboats 1-4 all share a common septic system, and we are planning to do that demolition all at the same time, so it seems reasonable that that could be a single permit. If you require each boat to be permitted separately, we can also do that, but we really need to know what permits need to be issued, so we can proceed. At least one of the homes is expected to be removed and demolished. We have been in discussions with Linda Turkatte regarding the criteria for conversion of the others to vessel status. Once we have an official determination on that criteria, and after the homes have been completely disconnected from shore-side services, we will begin that conversion work. As you and I discussed, the building department (CDD) does not require permits for that conversion work. I assume EHD will want to inspect the houseboats once they have been converted, in order to confirm that the conversion criteria have been met. Can you please advise us (and your counter staff) as to what specific permits are required to perform the septic, water and electrical demolition?
