Perform an analysis to determine the existing capacity, if there is any additional capacity, in any system
that you are proposing to connect to.
b. If there is capacity in this system verify that the permitted discharge into Bieghle Drain is allowable for
the additional runoff or design a system to detain the additional runoff and meter off during off-peak
discharge into the Bieghle Drain.
c. If the requirement is to have publicly maintained storm drainage then a CFD would have to be formed to
maintain the new infrastructure.
2) Discharging into Duck Creek:
a. Contact the State Water Quality Control Board about permitting a new discharge into Duck Creek. The 2
forms that are required are attached.
b. If a new discharge into Duck Creek can be permitted design a system that will convey storm water and
discharge into the Creek at your permitted amount.
c. Similar to the Bieghle Drain option if the requirement is to have publicly maintained storm drain system
then a CFD would have to be formed to maintain the new infrastructure.
As we disc"ussed earlier the County has no preference on which option the developer chooses. I could see the benefits of
both options, i.e. connecting to existing infrastructure with the Bieghle Drain option but also not having as built
drawings for that existing system vs. being able to design a new system without any possible capacity limitations but
also having to go through the state to get the appropriate permits. If you would like to discuss further or have any
questions please let me know and we can set something up. Have a great rest of your day.
Thank you,
Christopher RM Heylin, E.I.T.
Development Services Engineer
San Joaquin County Public Works
(209) 953-7150
.: SAN.IQAQUIN
J U I
1.
