Box 1810 <br />Stockton, California 95201 <br />Pete Wilson, Governor <br />December 1, 1994 <br />RE: Financial Assurances Fund Documentation for Landfill Closure <br />and/or Postclosure Maintenance of the Foothill Sanitary <br />Landfill, Facility No. 39 -AA -0004; Corral Hollow Landfill, <br />Facility No. 39 -AA -0005; and the North County Landfill, <br />Facility No. 39 -AA -0022 <br />Dear Mr. Karam: <br />The information I am requesting in this letter is needed to <br />calculate the required amount of financial assurance coverage <br />pursuant to Title 14, California Code of Regulations, Division 7, <br />Chapter 5, Article 3.5 (the Regulations), section 18282. Please <br />provide the following information for each landfill within <br />fourteen days of receipt of this letter: <br />1) The capacity filled from up to 60 days before the last <br />anniversary date (9/25/93) to up to 60 days before the <br />latest anniversary date (9/25/94)(Cf of the new funding <br />formula). <br />2) Please provide the remaining permitted capacity (Cr of the <br />new funding formula) which is the total permitted capacity <br />(the capacity approved by the landfill's permit but <br />excluding any capacity filled prior to 8/18/89), minus the <br />cumulative capacity filled since 8/18/89. <br />3) The remaining closure cost estimates (Er of the "new" <br />funding formula) which is the latest submitted closure (and <br />postclosure maintenance for Corral Hollow LF only) cost <br />estimates updated by the new inflation factor of 1.026 <br />(2.60) (unless the estimate is figured for 1994 dollars), <br />minus the fund balance before the 1994 required deposit. <br />4) Please provide the fund balance after the 1994 annual fund <br />deposit. <br />-- Primed on Recycled Paner - Double Sided for Source Reduction -- <br />
