Landfill gas monitoring at the Corral Hollow Sanitary Landfill <br />indicates that gas migration is occurring at several locations. <br />The County is addressing this issue by installing final cover <br />over the entire landfill. Closure operations will be complete in <br />April, which include construction of a clay barrier layer and a <br />vegetative cover layer. Final cover will greatly reduce the <br />amount of moisture entering the refuse, which in turn will reduce <br />methane production.
