Ms. Rivera and Mr. Ernest, Attached please find a revised permit text to close the piping in place at the above mentioned location based on verbal discussion to Steven J . Jones and Ryan Hultner while onsite. The primary reasons for the closure in place are 1) the proximity to other in-use equipment which is a safety hazard. 2) Location of the piping run within the containment area for the loading racks, compromise in this area could result in a j safety concern. It was requested that WPI Construction answer the following questions: 1) Means and method to slurry the pipe in place a. How will you pour the slurry in the pipe? WPI will install a 4" Bell by Male fitting to the fiberglass fitting in the sump then an adapter to reduce the size to 2" , then a camlock fitting to allow the cement pump to connect directly. WPI will pump slurry from the cut nearer the loading rack towards the UST. We will see the slurry come into the UST with a visual inspection. Once slurry is visible from inside the UST sump the line will be capped at the fuel line sump. Fill the remainder of the UST sump. And verify both the piping and UST are properly closed in place. b. The pipe is currently open ended on both sides. How will you determine that the slurry is coming out on both ends? Visual inspection will be completed, we will be able to see each side. 2) Soil boring plan a. The requirement is (1) soil boring per 20' of pipe. There is 84' of pipe from the rack to the UST. Draft Boring permit application is attached, it still requires a signature from the driller, Gregg and we expect this Thursday 9/30. 4 borings are proposed.
