The Corral Hollow Sanitary Landfill is located on Corral Hollow Road approximately 5 miles south of
Tracy, California(Figure 1). The site is a Class III landfill which stopped accepting waste in May,
1995. In accordance with closure regulations, a network of seven perimeter gas monitoring wells was
installed by SCS Engineers (Figure 2).
The seven wells were monitored for methane on July 26, 1999. The results of the monitoring are
shown on the table below. The County used the Landtec GEM 500 Gas Extraction Monitoring
instrument. This instrument was calibrated by County Staff prior to the sampling event. The Landtec
GEM 500 is capable of measuring methane, carbon dioxide, oxygen, and nitrogen(balance gas)
concentrations.
Date: 7/26/99
Sampler: Michael Kalish
Code Date CH4 CO2 02 Bal Pressure
CH 1 SHALL 7/26/99 0.5 13.5 5.2 80.8 +0.2
CHIINT 7/26/99 24 30.3 2.2 43.5 +0.1
CH 1 DEEP 7/26/99 51.3 31 0 17.7 +0.1
CH2SHALL 7/26/99 47.7 33 1.4 17.9 0
CH21NT 7/26/99 56.7 38.5 0 4.8 0
CH2DEEP 7/26/99 52.9 37.9 0.6 8.6 0
CH3SHALL 7/26/99 40.5 33.9 0 25.6 +0.1
CH31NT 7/26/99 12.3 15.6 10.5 61.6 +0.1
CH3DEEP 7/26/99 32.3 32.8 0 34.9 +0.1
CH4SHALL 7/26/99 0 0.2 17.6 82.2 0
CH41NT 7/26/99 0 0.1 17 82.9 0
CH4DEEP 7/26/99 0 0.1 18.2 81.7 0
CHSSHALL 7/26/99 0 4.4 14 81.6 0
CH51NT 7/26/99 0 7.2 12 84.8 0
CHSDEEP 7/26/99 0.3 13.4 2.3 84 0
CH6SHALL 7/26/99 0 6.8 8.2 85 0
CH61NT 7/26/99 15.1 18.5 0 66.4 0
CH6DEEP 7/26/99 37.8 36.3 0 25.9 0
CH7SHALL 7/26/99 0 0.8 16.6 82.6 0
CH71NT 7/26/99 0 0.1 17.9 82 0
1
