The County has addressed this issue by installing final cover over <br /> the entire landfill. Final cover consists of a two foot foundation layer, a one foot clay barrier <br /> layer, and a one foot vegetative cover layer. Final cover will greatly reduce the amount of <br /> moisture entering the refuse, which in turn will reduce methane production. The County will <br /> continue gas testing on a quarterly basis to monitor the effects of final cover installation on gas <br /> migration. Effects of gas migration are expected to be minimal due to the desolate location of the <br /> Corral Hollow Sanitary Landfill. The only residence in the area is approximately one mile from <br /> the site. <br /> 4 <br />
