The Corral Hollow Sanitary Landfill is located on Corral Hollow Road approximately five miles <br /> south of Tracy, California(Figure 1). The site is a Class III landfill which stopped accepting <br /> waste in May 1995. In accordance with closure regulations, a network of seven perimeter gas <br /> monitoring wells was installed by SCS Engineers (Figure 2). <br /> The seven wells were monitored for methane on May 22, 1998. The results of the monitoring are <br /> shown on the table below. The County used the Landtec GEM 500 gas monitoring instrument. <br /> This instrument was calibrated according to manufacturer's specifications. The GEM 500 is <br /> capable of measuring static pressure, methane, carbon dioxide, oxygen, and balance <br /> concentrations. <br /> 1 <br />
