The County has addressed this issue by
installing final cover over the entire landfill. In addition, the County has developed a Request for
Proposals (RFP) for design of a landfill gas control system. The RFP will be sent to landfill gas
consultants for design in the very near future. The County will continue to monitor the probes
for landfill gas quarterly. Effects of gas migration are minimal at this time due to the desolate
location of the Corral Hollow Sanitary Landfill. The only residence in the area is approximately
one mile from the site.
4
