Based on our review,we find the report(s)
incomplete. The reporting dates as stated in WDRs Order No. 5-01-176 and dates of receipt are as
follows:
First Quarter Due Date Date Received Comment
30 Aril 2002 10 May 2002 Late
Second 31 July 2002 2 August 2002 Late
Third 31 October 2002 10 December 2002 Late
The County is required to address the following comments:
First Quarter
1. Groundwater: Impacted well MW-5: Increasing trend in Electrical Conductivity, TDS, and
Chloride; decreasing trend in pH; VOCs continue to impact well. Alkalinity and bicarbonate are
also increasing over time. The attached time-series graphs show the trends.
2. Surface water: Transmittal letter states contractor was not notified of updated WDRs; therefore,
first storm water event did not include the new monitoring parameters and field parameters listed
in Table III of the WDRs. Table 2 shows quarterly monitoring and field parameters for SW-1 and
SW-2 with a sampling date of 1/8/02. Please clarify.
3. Figure 1, Landfill Vicinity Map and Figure 2, Groundwater Contour and Sampling Location Map
were not included in the report. Please ensure that all maps are included in subsequent monitoring
reports.
California Environmental Protection Agency
Q?Recycled Paper
The energy challenge facing California is real. Every Californian needs to take immediate action to reduce energy consumption.
For a list of simple ways you can reduce demand and cut your energy costs, see our Web-site at http://www.swrcb.ca.gov/rwqcb5
