("Walgreens") and hereby responds to the
June 17, 2020 Small Quantity Hazardous Waste Generator Inspection Report, as amended
June 18, 2020, with respect to hazardous waste management issues noted at store# 12549.
Thank you for taking the time to discuss this matter with me and providing an extension of time
to respond, to and including July 24, 2020 to allow us to clarify certain issues with you and
respond to all three Inspection Reports in a coordinated manner. Walgreens wishes to
demonstrate its good faith effort to comply with California's hazardous waste control laws by
submitting this Return to Compliance Certification and Corrective Action Statement. As
discussed below, any errors noted as stated in the Inspection Report have been corrected.
104: No Modified Contingency Plan. Walgreens' hazardous waste training
program specifies that all locations post required continency plan information next to telephones,
which includes telephone numbers of the emergency coordinator and fire department as well as
locations of spill control materials and fire extinguishers. Employees with hazardous waste
handling responsibilities are trained to check posting areas for compliance. This proprietary and
confidential training program includes compliance with CCR 66262.34(d)(2). Any failure to
post or include required information in the contingency plan was an inadvertent employee error
and was corrected at the time of inspection; management has reviewed proper procedures with
employees with hazardous waste handling responsibilities and refreshed training for all
responsible employees.
514079.1
A Professional Law Corporation
