Provide the EHD with a photometric plan of the deck area. An adequate amount <br /> of deck lighting shall be provided, which is at least three-foot candles. <br /> 2. The lights in the pool shall be protected by a ground-fault circuit interrupter(GFCI). <br /> This will be inspected by the City or County Building Department. <br /> 3. All deck areas must have a slope of no less than 1 percent (1/8-inch per foot) but <br /> no more than 2 percent (1/4-inch per foot) away from the pool. <br /> 4. All pumps, filters, chemical feeders, disinfectant feeders, skimmers and <br /> supplemental equipment shall comply with the applicable requirements <br /> established by the NSF/ANSI 50-2012. Provide specs. <br /> 5. Chemical feeders and associated components shall be constructed and installed <br /> to prevent uncontrolled discharge or siphoning of chemicals and fumes directly into <br /> the pool, its recirculation system, the pool area or ancillary facilities. <br /> 6. A flowmeter must be installed on a horizontal straight run of pipe with a minimum <br /> of 10 pipe diameters before and 4 pipe diameters after the flowmeter. It should be <br /> positioned after the filter and before the heater. I may be installed after the heater, <br /> if a great enough distance can be maintained so that heated water will not damage <br /> the flowmeter. <br /> 7. Pipes shall be sized so flow velocity of piping systems including all parts and <br /> fittings other than inlet devices or venturi throats shall not exceed 6 feet per <br /> second in any suction and 8 feet per second in any portion of the return system. <br /> Provide specifications for the jet pump and pipe size. The filter pump proposed <br /> for the spa will exceed 6 fps though 2.5 inch pipe. Also it will exceed the <br /> flow of the filter. <br /> 1868 E.
