Provide a corrective action statement to the EHD <br /> within 30 days. <br /> This is a Class II violation. <br /> 403 CCR 66262.34(d)(2) Failed to keep hazardous waste containers closed except when adding or removing hazardous <br /> waste. <br /> OBSERVATION: The following open hazardous waste storage containers were observed on-site: <br /> 1.An open black hazardous waste container,found stacked on top of two other hazardous waste containers and <br /> next to the facility's water fountains,was storing three damaged bottles of fragrance mist and one damaged bottle of <br /> body oil. <br /> REGULATION GUIDANCE:A container holding hazardous waste shall always be closed during transfer and <br /> storage, except when it is necessary to add or remove waste. <br /> CORRECTIVE ACTION: Immediately close these containers and ensure all hazardous waste containers are closed <br /> when not adding or removing waste. Provide a corrective action statement and supporting documentation to the <br /> San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department within 30 days. <br /> This is a Class II violation. <br /> 404 CCR 66262.34(d)(2) Failed to inspect hazardous waste storage areas at least weekly. <br /> OBSERVATION:According to a document titled"SOP For Managing Beauty Damages in California Washington" <br /> and the Victoria's Secret Hazardous Waste Training Guide,weekly inspections of the hazardous waste storage area <br /> are to be conducted and documented every Monday, and the completed weekly checklists are to be kept in the <br /> facility's Hazardous Waste Regulated Beauty Binder for 3 years. However, completed weekly checklists were not <br /> found at the time of inspection.According to Sarah Herrington, Store Manager,the hazardous waste storage area <br /> weekly inspections have not been conducted. <br /> REGULATION GUIDANCE: The owner or operator shall inspect areas used for container storage or transfer, at <br /> least weekly, looking for leaking containers and for deterioration of containers and the containment system caused <br /> by corrosion or other factors. <br /> CORRECTIVE ACTION: Immediately, begin inspecting the hazardous waste storage area weekly.
