Corrective Action Financial Assurance Estimate <br />Corral Hollow Sanitary Landfill <br />San Joaquin County <br />Revised September 30, 2008 <br />II k 1001GEel "EST, <br />12 • <br />The purpose is this report is to estimate the cost of corrective action at the Corral Hollow Sanitary <br />Landfill against a "reasonably foreseeable release" in accordance with Sections 20380(b) and <br />22220 through 22222 of Title 27, California Code of Regulations. The County will then <br />demonstrate financial assurance for this cost. <br />Revision Contents <br />This revision incorporates the following: <br />• Costs for installation of landfill gas (LFG) components of corrective action are based on a <br />contractor bid received for similar work at the Corral Hollow Landfill. <br />• Other corrective action costs are updated from the cost estimate submitted in 2007 by 2.7% <br />in accordance with California Integrated Waste Management Board annual inflation factor. <br />• Total corrective action costs are based on a 30 -year corrective action period. <br />• Acknowledgement of corrective action construction planned for October 2008. <br />Site Description <br />The Corral Hollow Sanitary Landfill is located at 31130 South Corral Hollow Road on a 58 -acre <br />parcel, 43 acres of which received refuse. The landfill is an unlined Class III disposal unit which <br />ceased receiving waste in 1991 and was closed October 1995. The site is owned and maintained <br />by San Joaquin County. The closure cover consists of a 2 to 6 -foot thick foundation layer under a <br />1 -foot thick low -permeability soil layer, under a 1 -foot thick vegetative surface layer. <br />Hydrogeology <br />The hydrology at this site is complex due to the presence of two aquifers, one of which terminates <br />in the general vicinity of the landfill footprint. <br />Corrective Action Financial Assurance Cost Estimate 1 Public Works/Solid Waste Div. <br />Corral Hollow Sanitary Landfill September 30, 2008 <br />
