The initial plan was reviewed by the EHD. The EHD requested more <br />information regarding surrounding land uses and structures located near the landfill. The <br />operator responded on December 12, 2008. The EHD reviewed the additional information <br />submitted and conducted a field investigation regarding the actual spacing of Gas probe <br />distances. The EHD sent a letter directing the site operator to install two additional <br />perimeter gas probes by the October 2009 deadline. <br />ds ,,,44S`3a�aiC NG <br />tnS Cifsrrtl►11i <br />__Ct14►3 128 ti ._, n ..,5 °` i!'�il�'� ui ",i• h J �F?J't3d��dNIA�,)'1mi 1 t <br />AC T27CCR 20939 (b) (1) - Sub -surface Landfill Gas Control System; The facility has experienced 7 sub -surface landfill fires in the last 18 months. <br />Most of the fires occurred along the southern slope of the old Austin Road landfill area. The most recent fire occurred on the western slope of the old <br />Forward landfill area. The facility operator has made efforts to place soil, and compact it, in the areas where the fires had previously occurred. The <br />systems operation is under review by the CIWMB. Resolution to the issue is expected soon. <br />Notes: <br />1. The site used tarps, soil, PGM and TASW for daily cover. The site has just begun to use the tarp-o-matic tarping machine. The area covered by tarps <br />was approximately 6600 sq feet. <br />2. There was daylighting of waste where the tarps came together. Make sure that the tarps overlap to eliminate daylighting. <br />3. the perimeter gas probes were montiored during the inspection the following was noted: <br />GP9 (S) (1) (D) 0% CH4 <br />GP11 (S) 1.1 % CH4 (1) 0.6% CH4 (D) 0.0% CH4 <br />GP12 (S) 0.1% CH4 (1) 0.1% CH4 (D) 0.5% CH4 <br />The following AC was corrected from the last inspection: <br />T27CCC 20580 - Lighting <br />
