I'm not sure if you have retired yet, but hoping I catch you before you've left! We just got the analytical report for the
soil borings done at the above referenced site on 2/16 (attached). In soil from 10 ft bgs in boring B-11, there was an
elevated concentration of arsenic (7.3 mg/kg). Soil from boring B-12 did not have any concentrations above reporting
limits.
In the letter from SJCEHD dated March 15, 2016, Pangea was directed to "Also collect a soil sample from native soil
approximately 5 ft bgs from the boring on the east property margin to hold for analysis if elevated concentrations of any
Title 22 metals are detected in the sample from the B-1 area; however, if any soil samples from the eastern boring yields
indications of being impacted by contaminants, collect a sample from a contingency boring in the B-2 or B-3 area. The
hold sample should be analyzed only for the metals that apprear to have elevated concentrations; consult with the EHD
prior to analyzing the sample" (page 4).
Due to the elevated concentration of arsenic in soil from boring B-11, Pangea was planning to analyze the soil sample
from 5 ft bgs from boring B-12. Do you concur with this plan? If so, do you have a recommendation for which analysis to
run?
Thank you! I've attached the analytical report and map for your reference.
Elizabeth Avery
Project Geologist
Pangea Environmental Services
1710 Franklin St., Suite 200
Oakland, CA 94612
(510)836-3700 Office
(510)965-5489 Cell
(510)836-3709 Fax
eavery@pangeaenv.com
