Laboratory analyses will be conducted by BC Laboratories, Inc., of Bakersfield, California, a State of California ELAP-certified laboratory. BC Labs will provide the sample containers, which will be stored in an area that is free from dust and exposure to organic chemicals. All ground water samples will be poured from the bailer by inserting a disposable bottom - emptying device to transfer the liquid from the bailer directly into the sample containers. Trip blanks for each day of sampling will accompany sample containers from the laboratory, through the field operations, and return to the laboratory as a QC check to determine if contamination has been introduced from the sample containers or laboratory water. Field blanks will be collected by pouring laboratory provided reagent -grade water directly into a set of sample vials as a test of site-specific environmental conditions. Field blanks will be collected at a frequency of one per day. Once a sample is collected, it will be stored in a field ice chest. Each sample will be catalogued on appropriate Chain -of -Custody documentation after it has been collected, and the Chain -of -Custody records and other appropriate paperwork will accompany each sample to the analytical laboratory. It is anticipated that samples will be provided to the laboratory courier at the end of each sampling day, and the field sampler will be responsible for the care and custody of the samples until they are shipped or otherwise delivered to the laboratory custodian. Samples from temporary wells and all blank samples will be analyzed for VOCs according to United States Environmental Protection Agency (US EPA) test method 8260B. Samples from permanent monitoring wells will be analyzed for additional routine monitoring parameters that include: Analyte Test Method Bicarbonate SM 23208 Carbonate SM 2320B Chloride 300.0 Nitrate as Nitrogen 300.0 Sulfate 300.0 Total Dissolved Solids 160.1 Calcium 6010B Magnesium 6010B Potassium 6010B Sodium 6010B In accordance with GLA's QA/QC protocols, when laboratory analytical reports are received, they are date-stamped and reviewed by responsible staff for completeness and conformance with holding time requirements.
