Geo4icaf Technics 1nc.
Annual Monitoring Report
Long Ranch
Project No. 896.2
January 20, 2004
Page 2
The samples were delivered to A&L Western Laboratories, Inc. of Modesto, CA (DHS
Certification # 1657) on the same day of collection. The samples were analyzed for the
following constituents:
Nitrogen
Phosphorous
Potassium
Total Dissolved Solids (TDS)
The results are summarized in Table 1 of Appendix A. The laboratory data sheet is attached
in Appendix B.
Discharge Area Soil Sampling
During the October 24, 2003 site visit, Mr. Mark Pierson of GTI also collected soil samples
from the areas used to dispose of the wastewater. According to Mr. Scott Long of Long
Ranch, wastewater was only used to irrigate two of the five disposal areas, #1 & #2.
Because wastewater was not discharged to areas # 3, 4 & 5, soil samples were not collected
from these areas. The spatial relationship of these areas are shown in Figure 2 and a
summary of plot size and irrigation history is given in Table 3 for these discharge areas.
Soil samples were collected in the following locations and are designated on Figure 3.
Two soil samples were collected from Disposal Area #1 and were composited into
one sample.
Three soil samples were collected from Disposal Area #2 and were composited into
one sample.
The top 6-inches of soil at each sample area was first removed using a spade. A slide
hammer was then used to collect a driven sample in a 2-inch diameter by 6-inch long brass
tube. The brass tube was then capped with plastic end caps, properly labeled and placed in
a chilled ice chest for transport to the laboratory.
The samples were delivered to A&L Western Laboratories, Inc. of Modesto, CA (DHS
Certification # 1657) on the same day of collection. The samples were analyzed for the
following analysis:
Electrical Conductivity (EC)
Total Nitrogen
Phosphorus
Potassium
The results are summarized in Table 2 of Appendix A. The laboratory data sheet is attached
in Appendix B.
