Ackerson Equipment Repair BAKER
at 20450 S. Murphy Rd. has an oil spill from the equipment wash bay. Reviewed
complaint information and parcel viewer information. Verified GIS in EC.
04/06/2021 On site for complaint inspection with Melissa Nissim (Program Coordinator) and
Fred Ernest (EHS). John Ackerson (Owner) showed us the wash bay. Per John
Ackerson the wash bay is only used to clean dirt off of equipment. Cow manure
was observed in the middle of the concrete pad. No staining was observed going
into the wash bay drain. Wash bay drain leads to a sump. Sump did not have a
lid and contained approximately six inches of dark liquid. Unable to determine if
liquid was oily water or muddy water. Per John Ackerson, sump does not have
any piping leading to another location. All liquid stops there. Used oil generated
by the facility is picked up by American Valley Waste Oil. Two years of disposal
records were reviewed while on site. Facility is a hazardous waste generator.
Routine hazardous waste inspection was conducted.
BAKER
04/12/2021 Discussed complaint with Garrett Backus (Lead Sr. REHS).
