Jan. 17. 2007 3:34PM No. 1093
SCOPE OF WORK FOR INS PROPERTY
One boring will be advanced to approximately 30 feet below ground surface using dual
tube equipment. 2-3 borings will be advanced to 20 feet using single tube equipment.
One day of sampling is anticipated.
The proposed soil boring, will be advanced, using hydraulic direct push equipment, to
sufficient depth to sample two water-bearing zones (approximately at 15 feet and 30 feet
bgs respectively).
Soil samples will be collected continuously and collected in clear tubes, lining the inside
of the boring equipment.
Two grab groundwater samples will be collected (one from both the upper and lower
sandy water bearing zones). Groundwater grab samples will be collected using either a
bailer constructed of Teflon, PVC, or stainless steel, or a peristaltic pump outfitted with
PVC or Teflon tubing. Dual tube equipment will be employed and a hydro-punch
system, or 5 feet of slotted PVC screen, will be lowered into the boring to serve as
temporary well casing to collect groundwater samples.
Upon completion of sampling and data collection activities, the borings will be sealed,
from the bottom to the surface, using a mixture of neat cement and bentonite clay. The
top of the boring will be finished in a manner similar to surrounding materials.
