Mike Infurna [EH]
From: Devra Lewis [LewisD@rb5s.swrcb.ca.gov ]
Sent: Monday, June 09, 2003 7:00 AM
To: Mike Infurna [EH]
Subject: RE: ?
Mike,
certVWfAr
I have not been successful in finding out who has been assigned this
site. I will talk to Wendy today to follow up on this, but her and I
both have meetings this morning so I may not be to get back to you until
this afternoon.
Devra
>>> "Mike Infurna [EH]" <MInfurna@sjcehd.com> 06/06/03 03:32PM >>>
thank you....
so to avoid some confusion, I'll recap it here as to refresh
memories...
The site is "Metropolitan Stevedore". .on the Port.. .2201 W. Washington
St.,Stockton..4 mw's installed 1991. some Arsenic, Copper, sulfates,
Chromium hits in the gw...Referred to Board in EHD letter of May 19,
1992.
Nothing ever happened...
Now Metro-Steve wants to dissolve the lease with the Port (POS). POS
said take out the wells first.. .Metro calls me for well destruction
permit in March 2003..1 hold off issue until I get ok from 'lead agency'
(you folks).
Wendy & I spoke (phone message tag) about it back in March 2003 and we
agreed that: (1) Old report from 1991 needed for Board review first, and
(2) additional groundwater sampling needed from the 4 existing
monitoring wells under an approved "Sampling Plan" ("SAP"). I received
my 'cc' copy of this PLAN June 4, 2003. .DID you?
seems inadequate to me.. .but I wanted to check with you about the
details...
my concerns:
lots of talk in the 1991 report about Parcel 3 and MW-1 and 4.. .not
much about the other two Parcels (1 & 2) or MW-2 & 3.
"SAP" only proposing PAR (no EPA method proposed, or if full list) and
'dissolved Copper' (again, no EPA Method).
what about Arsenic (original constituent of concern 130 ug/1 and 60
ug/1 in MW-1 & MW-4 resp)???
Elemental (total) Sulfur was detected in MW-1 & MW-4 at 146,000 ug/1
and 153,000 ug/1 respectively. No resampling for sulfur proposed, unless
'understood' to be in PAR or in the 'dissolved Copper' analysis??
(currently unknown method).
-Chromium?
too confusing?
sorry.
I've got two early June 9 (Monday) apts....I won't be back in the
office til after lunch...I will be on cell phone in the am tho'..(209)
815-8329 if you need some clarifications....
good luck.
