PRE-TANK REPLACEMENT Site Assessment Results <br />4315 WATERLOO RD, STOCKTON, CA <br />Aegis Project No. 89-047 <br />Page 1 <br />1.0 INTRODUCTION <br />Aegis Environmental Consultants (Aegis) is hereby submitting the <br />results of a pre-tank replacement site assessment conducted at the <br />Shell retail service station located at 4315 Waterloo Road, Stockton, <br />San Joaquin County, CA. The San Joaquin County assessor's parcel <br />number for the site is 087-10-34 (figure 1). The purpose of the site <br />assessment was to assess subsurface conditions at the proposed <br />location of new underground storage tanks, and the existing tank <br />basin. Briefly the scope of Aegis' services included the following: <br />1) Drilling and sampling four soil borings at the existing <br />underground storage tank basin and associated plumbing <br />system at the locations identified in figure 2. <br />2 Drilling and sampling six soil borings at the proposed <br />underground tank location, as shown in figure 2. <br />Drilling and sampling four soil borings at the fuel island, <br />at the locations identified in figure 2. <br />Recovering soil samples from each of the soil borings at <br />five foot vertical spacings. <br />Logging each of the soil samples in accordance with the <br />Unified Soil Classification System. <br />6 <br /> Screening each of the recovered samples for the presence of <br />petroleum hydrocarbons with a photoionization detector <br />(PID). <br />7 <br /> Submitting a total of fourteen soil samples to a state <br />certified laboratory to be analyzed for petroleum <br />hydrocarbons. <br />8 <br /> All field work and analytical procedures were performed in <br />accordance with the methods outlined in Appendix A, and <br />conform to the "Tr-Regional Guidelines" for the initial <br />evaluation of underground tanks. <br />9) Preparing this report presenting the results of Aegis'site <br />assessment, with conclusions and recommendations for soil <br />mitigation during the planned tank closure/replacement.
